Alexander Thomas Rae Obituary

Alexander Thomas Rae, 74, husband of Kathryn M. Rae, entered eternal rest on Monday, May 6, 2024.


A Memorial Service with Military and Fire Honors will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Rickie Jenkins officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour before the service. 


Alex was born on March 25, 1950, in Brooklyn, New York, the son of the late Thomas Alexander Rae and Rose Bainlardi Rae.  He was a graduate of Queens New York High School and attended college in the Air Force.  He served in the US Air Force for five years as a pilot and was a member of the Lake Ariel Fire Company and Bohemia New York Fire Department.  Most recently, he served as a volunteer firefighter with the Dorchester County Fire Department.  He was a CPR instructor with the Red Cross and was the owner and operator of the Family Deli in Bohemia, NY.  He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret McCosker and a grandson, Dylan Ford Gambler. 


Surviving is his wife, Kathryn Rae, St. George; sons, Thomas Rae, Alexander Thomas Rae, Jr. and Daniel Robert Rae; daughters, Evangeline Boutin, Alison Rose (Dale Holzer) Rae and Caroline Mary (Sonny Ibrahimi) Rae; stepdaughter, Molly Gambler (Michael) Thornton; stepson, Devin Floyd (Katelyn) Gambler; grandchildren, Abraham Ibrahimi, Margot Ibrahimi and Bowie Gambler.
