Ann Wamer Hutto Obituary

Ann Wamer Hutto, widow of Michael Paul Hutto, Sr., entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Roper Hospital, Charleston, SC.


A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at St. George Methodist Church with Pastor Joey McDonald officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.  


Ann was born on September 2, 1947, to Thomas Appleby Wamer and Nettie Eulalee Whetsell. She was a  graduate of St. George High School, Class of 1965. She pursued a higher education and went on to build a career in the banking industry. She was a former member of Edisto Beach Baptist Church where she, Mike and family made their home for a number of years.  She later returned to her home church, St. George Methodist Church.  She served for many years on the Edisto Beach Town Council, where she worked to improve the community, she loved.  In her earlier years, Ann taught countless children in the St. George area how to swim, leaving a lasting impact on them.


She was predeceased by a son, Michael Paul “Mich” Hutto, Jr. and a sister, Susan Edmonds.


Surviving is a son, Rhett Appleby Hutto; grandchildren, Katharine Reed Hutto, Michael Paul Hutto, III, and Rhett Appleby “App” Hutto, Jr.; brother-in-law, Charles “Scooter” Edmonds; and, many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
