Ann Cone Heaton Nolf Obituary
Ann Cone Heaton Nolf, 83, went home to be with Jesus on July 12, 2026. Ann was born on January 2, 1943, in Charleston, SC to James Harold Heaton (Deceased) and Annie Cornelius Heaton (Deceased). She Graduated from Chicora High School in 1962. After high school, she met our dad and her husband of 61 years, James Waide Nolf. They met while he was in the Navy and stationed in Charleston, SC. He was a surfer and she loved going to Folly Beach. They later got married on January 1, 1965, at Glad Tidings Assembly of God.
Ann wanted to be a Nurse and went to school to become an LPN. She worked as a Nurse at Roper Hospital, Dorchester County Hospital, Home Health, County Jail, Pediatrician’s Office, OB/GYN Offices, and a Nursing Home. She loved helping and caring about people. Those attributes were especially shown in her as a mom. In 1974, after trying to have children for a while, Ann and Jim adopted Harriett Ann at 5 days old from the Dorchester County Hospital after getting an unexpected phone call from a doctor working at the hospital. They were living in Wilmington, NC, and immediately left to pick up the little girl. Ann and Jim didn’t have a baby crib, so they made the baby a bed in a drawer in their chest of drawers.
Three years after Harriett Ann, Ann became pregnant and gave birth to another daughter, Mary Yvonne, on December 2, 1977, at Roper Hospital. The couple could not have been more excited about having another child to love and care for. Ann loved to dress us identically even though we were 3 years apart, especially for church. Ann & Jim brought us up in church and we were there for every service (Both services on Sunday’s, Wednesday nights, and for all special services like revivals, Vacation Bible Schools, or singings). If there was a service, we were there on that pew. With home, church and attending a Christian school, we were taught about Jesus most of the week.
Jim was in the Navy and then transferred to the US Air Force which he traveled outside of the country often. Ann held down the home and took us to and from school during the week. She also took us to any activities that we needed to be at also. We were blessed that instead of having to move around the world like most military families do, we were able to stay in the same house and school. When Jim was home, he would work for Bellsouth which later became AT&T and then Lucent Technologies. He also had a locksmith business that Ann would ride along with him to the various customers to install burglar alarms or unlock cars. Of course, we were always in the back seat sometimes in our pajamas because the call for assistance came in late at night.
For many years, Ann worked as a Nurse until she retired in 1995 and became a housewife until Dad retired from the Air Force and Lucent Technologies. The locksmith business was sold when Dad was in Desert Storm. Ann & Jim started travelling with a Minister friend of theirs and making tapes of the services. Many years, they did this ministry and God blessed them again multiple times.
In 2019, Ann & Jim felt that God was wanting them to make a move to small town of 360 people called Cobbtown, GA. They bought a midsize home with lots of land and called it home. There, Ann & Jim have lived for the last seven years.
Ann loved to sing and praise Jesus, eat chocolate, and sit on the porch. Her favorite saying was “Whatever floats your boat and cranks your tractor”.
Ann is survived by her husband, Jim. Her children: Hariett Ann Nolf-McDaniel (Nathan); Mary Yvonne Randall. Her Grandchildren: Trey Nolf, Valentino Nicholas Fazi, IV (Chelsey), David Troy Infinger, Jr. AKA TJ, and Todd Michael Randall. One Great-Grandchild: Ivy Ann Lousie Fazi, and Her Furry Kids: Vennie and Mia.
Ann is pre-deceased by her Parents, Great-Aunts, and Great-Uncles.
