Barbara Connelly Kizer, 91, of Reevesville, South Carolina, widow of Hubert Smoak “Shebie” Kizer, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 12, 2024, at her home in Reevesville, under the care of Hospice and her loving granddaughters, Jennifer Reeves, Stacy Holt, Jennifer Hodges, Taylor Huff and Angela Huff.
Barbara was born December 21, 1932, a daughter of the late Julius and Louise Weathers Connelly of Reevesville.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Barbara lived a full and vibrant life. She enjoyed working in her yard and garden, gathering and canning the vegetables and sharing them with others. She was a member of Old St. George Baptist Church and loved her Lord.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Gloria Huff Marchant, of Reevesville; three sons, Julius J. (Rosie Hutto) Huff and Hammond (Amy) Huff of Reevesville, Linwood (Lisa) Huff of Bowman, 16 grandchildren, Bill (Rebecca) Marchant, Barbara Marchant, Jennifer Reeves, Kimberly (Bill) Robertson, Chip (Melissa) Marchant, Jessica (Chris) Hartzog, Crystal (Michael) Odom, Matthew (Charity) Huff, Travis (Lindsey) Huff, Angelia Huff, Stacy (Brad) Holt, Brianna Marchant, Jennifer (Ron) Hodges, Taylor Huff, Joey (Tracey) Huff, and Cory (Amanda) Huff; 28 great-grandchildren and 18 great, great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Mary Ellen Wimberly of St. George, Dixie Whetsell of Dorchester, a brother, Robert (Mildred) Connelly of Reevesville, a sister-in-law, Bonnie Connelly of Santee and a large extended family.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Diane Huff Marchant, great-granddaughter, Brandy Nicole Holt, brothers, Fletcher Connelly and Jerome Connelly, daughter-in-law, Vallarie Huff and son-in-law, Billy Marchant.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Old St. George Baptist Church with Pastor James Way officiating. A burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Marchant, Chip Marchant, Matthew Huff, Travis Huff, Joey Huff, Cory Huff and Taylor Huff. Visitation will be an hour before the service, at the church.
