Barry Jay Crook, 65, of St. George, husband of Lynn H. Crook, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 31, 2025, at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. David Mullins, Rev. Steve Mims, Rev. Jakie Walters, and Rev. Nathan Griffith officiating.  A burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Chinners, Mike Metts, Raymond Knight, Kenneth Traxler, Brice Shuler and Perry Chinners.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Joe Chinners, Eddie Heaton, John Richard Wimberly, John Perkins and the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Deacons. 

The visitation will be at 10:00 AM followed by the service.

Barry was born on April 21, 1959,  a son of the late Jacob Cicero Crook, Jr. and Virginia Traxler Crook.  He graduated from Dorchester Academy in 1977 and retired as a Business License Administrator with Dorchester County. He loved coaching his sons in Dixie Youth Baseball and watching them play  in all sports at Dorchester Academy.  In his later years, he enjoyed watching his grandsons play sports.  He also enjoyed playing golf, spending time at Edisto Beach and taking care of his yard.  He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Robert Hilton.

Surviving is his wife, Lynn Crook; sons, Brady (Erin) Crook and Tyler (Rebecca) Crook, all of St. George; grandchildren, Jacks Crook, Pres Crook and Piper Lynn Crook; brother, Keith (Wanda) Crook; a sister, Diane Crawford and 11 nieces and nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews.
