Benny C. Gillette, 63, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Edisto Church of God with Rev. Richard Roberts and Brother Mike officiating. Burial will follow in the Givhans Pentecostal Holiness Church. Pallbearers will be Rodney Creel, Irvin Muckenfuss, T.J. Muckenfuss, Simon Muckenfuss and Tommy Lee Creel.
Benny was born on January 11, 1963, in Summerville, a son of Janie Mae Creel Muckenfuss and the late Willie Muckelvaney and stepfather, John Muckenfuss. He attended Harleyville Ridgeville High School and was a landscaper. He was a member of the Edisto Church of God and the Edisto Natchez Kusso tribe. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He is predeceased by a sister, Lurleen Muckenfuss; great-grandson, Dior Boling; and his father and stepfather.
Surviving is his wife, Angel Gillette; two sons, Benjamin Gillette (Amanda Ormond) and Cory Gillette (Crystal Zander); his mother, Janie Mae Creel Muckenfuss; grandchildren, Maliyah Polin, Nikayla Polin, Ameliya Gillette, Brenden Ahrens, Liam Gillette, Willow Gillette and Barron Gillette; great-grandchildren, Khendrick Boling and Dakota Boling; brothers, Tillman Muckenfuss, Irvin Muckenfuss and Ted Muckelvaney; sisters, Leslie Reyes, Lottie Mae Creel, Lisa Creel, Jessie Washington and Katie Muckenfuss; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
