Bobby Lee Carter, 80, of Harleyville, husband of Diane Bell Carter, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 5, 2024.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Bethel Methodist Church of the Bend with Reverend Bob Lee and Reverend Paul Lawton officiating.  A burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Rich Jeffers, Jimmy Boyd, David Bell, Rodney Bell, Brandon Bounds and Brett Bounds. The family will receive friends an hour before the service in the church.

Bobby was born on February 13, 1944, in Colleton County, a son of the late James Bernard “J.B” Carter and Minnie Bell Canady Carter.  He was a graduate of Harleyville Ridgeville High School and was a custom home builder and bricklayer. He was a member of the Good Cheer Hunting Club and Bethel Methodist Church.  He enjoyed deer and dove hunting, fishing, and working on projects.  He was predeceased by a son, Bryan Casey Carter and brothers, Edward Carter and Bernard Carter.   

Surviving is his wife, Diane Bell Carter, Harleyville; a son, Buddy (Deanna) Carter; grandsons, Cole Carter (Collins Smith) and Dylan Carter; great-granddaughter, Claire Julie Carter; and a sister-in-law, Gladys Carter.
