Carolyn S. Kirkland, 83, widow of Bobby “Kirk” Kirkland, of St. George, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at her residence.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joey McDonald officiating.
Carolyn was born on March 5, 1942, in Dorchester, a daughter of the late James Oliver Smoak and Eula Mae Skipper Smoak She was a graduate of St. George High School and retired from her work as a custodian with Dorchester County. A member of St. George Methodist Church, she enjoyed spending time in her garden and loved shopping. She was predeceased by siblings, Joseph E. Smoak, James D. Smoak, Chales W. Smoak and George O. Smoak; and nephews, James E. Smoak and Michael Smoak.
Surviving is a son, Charles Robert “Chuck” (Brandy) Kirkland; grandchildren, Alex Kirkland and Jillian Kirkland; special niece, Teresa S. Messex; nephews, Charles Smoak, Blaine Smoak, Jimmy Smoak and Johnny Smoak; sisters-in-law, Ellen Smoak and Linda Smoak.
