Charlean Canaday

Charlean Canaday, 68, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 24, 2025.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 27, 2025, at St. Matthews Baptist Church, 2593 Wire Road, St. George with Rev. David Drumheller officiating.  Burial will follow in the Murray Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Eli Canaday, Zander Elliott, Jason Britt, Charlie Shearouse, Kyle Lane and Josh Gruber.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Charlean was born on February 11, 1957, in Walterboro, SC, to Johnny Ellison Britt and Lynette Creel Britt. She graduated from St. George High School and worked as a DSS caseworker. She was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church and served as the custodian for several years. Charlean was also the caregiver of her family.  

Surviving is her son, Lynn Canaday, Round O; daughter, Melissa Zorn, Branchville; brother; Keith (Mary Lynn) Britt; three sisters, Leslie (John) Lane, Kim Britt and Holly (Sonny) Brown; grandchildren, Zander Elliott, Linsey and Braelyn Zorn, Eli Canaday, Elizabeth Canaday, Ethan and Devon Valentine; and great grandson, Logan Elliott.

Memorials may be made to St. Matthews Baptist Church, 2593 Wire Road, St. George, SC 29477 or the Murray Cemetery.
