Charles James Weeks, Sr., 85, of St. George, husband of Lois Brunson Weeks, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Colleton Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at St. George Methodist Church with Rev. Joey McDonald officiating.  Burial will follow in St. George Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Patrick Westbury, Nelson McLeod, Andy Williams, Ralph Reeves, Richard Sutcliffe and Allen Mayes. The visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the time of service.

Charles was born on December 11, 1939, in St. George, a son of the late John Wesley Weeks and Margaret Westbury Weeks.  He was a 1958 graduate of St. George High School; Charles went on to serve honorably in the National Guard.  In 1966, he married Lois Brunson Weeks, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others. He was best known in the community as the owner of Weeks’ Department Store, where he welcomed each customer with a warm smile and a joke, always eager to brighten someone’s day. Charles was a devoted member of St. George Methodist Church. He served faithfully in various roles throughout the years and was a dedicated member of the Carlisle Utsey Sunday School class.  He was predeceased by a brother, John Wesley Weeks, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Patricia Weeks, June B. Willson and Alice B. Coleman; brothers-in-law, Steven Henry Brunson, William Jerry “Tub” Brunson, James Vaughan, Byrnes Coleman and Jerry McLeod and nephew, Ricky Drose.

Surviving is his wife, Lois B. Weeks; a son, Charles James “Charlie” Weeks, Jr. (Dawn), all of St. George; a daughter, Mary Margaret Weeks Westbury (Lawrence), St. Matthews; grandsons, Colby Weeks and Caden Weeks; a sister, Cindy Weeks Gaetke (Jeff); sisters-in-law, Virginia Brunson Vaughan, Billie Brunson McLeod, Rose Brunson Drose (Frankie), Ruby Brunson Livingston (Bill), Gloria Brunson Holladay (Ken), Gayle Brunson (Nelson Parker) and Cindy Harrington Brunson; brother-in-law, Joe Willson (Pam); a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends of the family, Ralph and Susie Reeves, Kelli, Landon, Anna Landi and Eliza Ross Wimberly.
