Clement Dale Byrd, of St. George, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at his residence.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 29, 2024,  at the St. George Cemetery.

Dale was born on January 22, 1950, in Orangeburg, a son of the late Gloria Murray Byrd and Albert Clement Byrd. He was a graduate of St. George High School and was an Army veteran during Vietnam.  He retired from South Carolina Electric and Gas as a lineman and was a member of St. George United Methodist Church.  He was an avid horseman who was passionate about his horses. 

He was predeceased by a brother, Johnny Byrd, and a niece, Julie Buchanan Carter.

Surviving is his son, Matthew Hutto (Melissa) Byrd, St. George; a daughter, Angie Byrd (Jim) Reed, St. Matthews; grandchildren, John Reed and Sam Reed; a sister, Kaye Byrd Harper; nieces, Kristen B. Hatchell, Stephanie Harper and Jessica Byrd; great nephews, Cole Carter and Dylan Carter; and great niece, Kaydance Hatchell.
