Delbert Hartzog Obituary

Delbert Hartzog, 75, of Harleyville, husband of Ellen Margaret Weeks Hartzog, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at his residence.


A Visitation will be held Thursday evening, May 8, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George.


Delbert was born on August 2, 1949, in Walterboro, a son of the late Albert Thaxton Hartzog and Annie Bell Hinton Hartzog.  He went to St. George High School and worked as a truck driver. Delbert served in the US Navy during Vietnam and was a member of Reevesville Baptist Church.  He was predeceased by brother, Glen Thaxton Hartzog


Surviving is his loving wife of 40 years, Ellen Weeks Hartzog; two daughters, Tracy Bogan (Billy) and Theresa Polin (Kelsey); sisters, Sherill (John) Mills and Joyce H. (Michael) Thomas; four grandchildren, Bryan Reeves, Roy A. Finley, III, Jason Finley and Hunter Jackson; eleven great-grandchildren, Clayton, Landon, Brayden, Michelle, Tyler, Haiden, Bryce, Chase, Liam and Isabell; and five nieces.


The family would like to thank Edisto Home Care and Hospice for their love and care.
