Diane Hooper Edwins, 81, of Holly Hill, wife of Mark Edwins, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Sandridge Baptist Church, 4677 State Road, Ridgeville with Rev. Owen Hill and Rev. Allen Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Roger Gaillard, Walter Early, Marv Brown, William Peagler, Tal Hill and Kenny White.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, 607 North Parler Avenue, St. George and other times at the home of Aaron and Jenni Edwins, Summerville.
Diane was born on December 4, 1944, in Sumter, SC, a daughter of the late Truman L. Hooper and Louise Weaver Hooper. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Business Administration and was employed with two Fortune 500 Industries with employment in service and human resources. She was on the Berkeley County board of Soil and Conservation district and became the commissioner in 1999. She served twice as the chairman of the district. She also served on the state conservation district board as treasurer for 3 terms and secretary for one term and area director Edisto/Savannah district.
She served on the board of the Lord Berkeley Conservation Trust for 16 years and 11 years with the AG South Bank Board. She was inducted into the Hall of Fame with the Berkeley County Soil and Conservation district. She was an active member of the Sandridge Baptist Church.
Surviving is her husband of 36 years, William Mark Edwins, Ridgeville; two sons, Aaron (Jenni) Edwins, Summerville and Kurt Edwins, Fort Lauderdale; grandchildren, Abigail, Reagan, Summer and Andrew Edwins; a sister, Kay (David) Booth; and a nephew, Jonathan Booth.
