Doris Shieder Hutto, 99, of St. George, widow of Walter Callie Hutto, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Magnolias of Santee.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at St. George Methodist Church with Rev. Joey McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the St. George Cemetery. The pallbearers will be McKinley Stephens, Brandon McClure, Eric Snyder, Wil Lindsay, Steve Smith, Jimmy Smith, Will Sikes, and Joseph Rickborn.
The family will receive friends an hour before the service in the church.
Doris was born on November 26, 1925, in Grover to Murray and Cora Shieder. She graduated from St. George High School and retired as a bank teller from First National Bank of Orangeburg. Doris was actively involved in St. George Methodist Church, including the Claudia Kizer Sunday School class, Anne Rel Brown Circle, Tea Room, and Mission Day Meals. She also joined the St. George Red Hatters Society and enjoyed gardening and bird watching. She was predeceased by sisters, Catherine Westbury, Eunice Rickborn, Mildred Adams and Helen Smith; and grandson, Joshua Hutto.
Surviving is her son, Walt (Kathy) Hutto; daughter, Sarah (Michael) Snyder; grandchildren, Callie (Brandon) McClure, McKinley Stephens, Michael (Kelly) Snyder, Eric (Amelia) Snyder, Mary (Wil) Lindsay, Sarah (Kirstie) Berry; great-grandchildren, Calder, Sullivan, Brantley, Lily, Eleanor, Eli, Anabel, Sid, Clara, Win, Evelyn, Will and Hollis; many nieces and nephews; and her favorite friend and yardman, Cate Elmore.
The family is grateful to Kimberly, Randal, Lucy, Cookie, Shay, Precious, Cassie, Cynthia, Sheila and all the others of Magnolias of Santee that had a part in her caregiving. Also, many thanks to Chris and Edisto Home Care & Hospice for their care and support.
