Earl Lewis Creel, 94, of St. George, widower of Margie Wagers Creel, entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 22, 2024.
A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at Murray Cemetery with Reverend David Drumheller officiating. Pallbearers will be David Wagers, Huey Shieder, Van Walters, Glenn Creel and Keith Britt. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George.
Earl was born on September 11, 1930, in Grover, a son of the late Johnnie Washington and Edith Rebecca Ferguson Creel. He was a 1948 graduate of St. George High School and was a US Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict as a ship service man. Earl was a Locomotion Operator with South Carolina Electric and Gas at the Canaday’s plant. He volunteered with the missionaries, on the International Services Corp., through the foreign mission board with the Southern Baptist Convention in Israel. He was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school and was an ordained deacon. Predeceased by siblings, Leroy Creel, Randolph Creel, Lynette C. Britt and Alvilda C. Murray.
Surviving is a son, Earl Lewis (Michele) Creel, Jr., Florida; a daughter, Linda Creel Jordan, St. George; grandchildren, Thomas Jordan (Kristen Murray), Rebecca (Kendall) Hill, Andrew (Kayla) Jordan, Elizabeth (Mike) Cabrera; great-grandchildren, Emma Grace and Lucy Hill and Khloe and Kallie Jordan; and a brother-in-law, Sapp (Judith) Wagers.
