Earl B. Simpson, Jr., 93, widower of Joyce Hodges Simpson, went to meet his Lord and Savior, on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
Earl was born June 29, 1930, in Norfolk, VA, son of the late Earl Branson Simpson and Serlie Harrell Simpson. He was a shipwright at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, Virginia. He was a former member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, Zuni, Virginia and Beulah Baptist Church, Branchville, SC.
Surviving is a son, Earl Branson Simpson, III (Bran) and his wife, Gay of Elkview, West Virginia; a daughter, Brenda Simpson Knight and her husband, John P. Knight of North Charleston; five grandsons, Dustin T. Knight and his wife, Amanda of Knoxville, TN, Brandon P. Knight and Ryan W. Knight of North Charleston, SC, Troy A. Simpson and his wife, Blair of Elkview, West VA and Cory B. Simpson and his wife, Jessica of Richmond, VA; and ten great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Earl’s Life will be held at a later date in Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, in Zuni, VA directed by RW Baker & Company Funeral Home & Crematory, Suffolk, VA.
