Evelyn Blewer Kizer, 96, of St. George, widow of William Madison Kizer, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 3, 2026, at her residence.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, April 6, 2026, at Indian Field Methodist Church with Rev. Thomas Sandifer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alton Baxley, Johnnie Baxley, Robert Blewer, Johnney Champey, Charles Mizzell and Marion Mizzell.
The family will receive friends an hour before the service.
Evelyn was born on January 23, 1930, in St. George, a daughter of the late George Furman and Gladys Hilton Blewer. She attended St. George High School and was an accounting clerk with the Department of Social Services. She was employed with the Dorchester County Courthouse in the Tax Collectors office and retired from the State Department of Social Services. She was a member of Indian Field Methodist Church.
She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Tracey Kay Herndon and siblings, Connie Mae Fox, Virgil Blewer, O’Dean (Red) Blewer, Elise B. Champey Ernestine B. Rhodes and LeRoy Blewer.
Surviving is her son, George William “G.W.” Kizer; a daughter, Carey K. Smith; grandchildren, George Linwood “Lin” (Tanya) Kizer; and, great-grandchildren, Tracey Lin (Alex) Kizer and Kelly K. (Jack) Berry.
The family would like to thank her special caregivers, Darlene Neals, Corine Prezzy, Eloise Green, Phyllis Huggins, Shirley Kelly, Stacy Generette and Carletta Murray.
