Frances Lowder

Frances Lowder, 83, of St. George, widow of Henry W. “Bill” Lowder, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Sid Mims officiating. Burial will follow in the Manning Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daryll Brown, Austin Webb, Rusty Rucker, Larry Carter, Brandon Murphy, John Nettles and James Webb. The family will receive friends an hour before the service.

Frances was born on June 16, 1943, in St. George, a daughter of the late L. Barney Nettles and Rosa Lee Carson Nettles.  She was a 1962 graduate of St. George High School and was the owner and operator of Bantam Chef and Lowder’s Restaurant.  She was a member of Grover Methodist Church. She was predeceased by siblings, Beatrice Martin, Oscar Nettles, Sadie N. Graham, Herbert Nettles, L. Mack Nettles, Howard Nettles and J.D. Nettles.

Surviving is her daughters, Janie L. Byrd (Frankie Gray) and Billie L. (Daryll) Murphy-Brown; sister, Doris N. Nettles; brother, Tommy (Kathy) Nettles; grandchildren, April Byrd, Amber (Austin) Webb, Joshua Henry Leon, Brandon (Jackie) Murphy and Kristie (Will) Mosier; great-grandchildren, Liam Byrd, Eli Webb, James Webb, Madison Leon, Ezra Murphy and Maci Mosier.
