Frances Patrick Obituary

Frances Patrick, widow of Wesley E. “Pat” Patrick, Jr., entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wesley E. “Pat” Patrick Jr., with whom she shared a life centered around family and the many memories they created together.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 5, 2026, at Old St. George Baptist Church, with Pastor James Way officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Frances was born on October 5, 1947, daughter of the late Jerome and Evelyn Cross. She loved the mountains, searching for treasures while antiquing, and playing bridge with her beloved Grits Sisters. A Southern lady with a lot of flair, Frances loved to talk, loved to laugh, and rarely missed an opportunity to enjoy the company of others. Above all, she was a devoted wife and mother and a faithful member of Old St. George Baptist Church.

She was predeceased by her sister Frieda and brother-in-law Reese Early, brothers-in-law Aubrey Patrick, Dale Patrick and Harley Smoak and sister-in-law Jane Patrick.

Surviving are her sons, Wesley E. (Tristan) Patrick, III, Lexington and Jason (Laurie) Patrick, Round O; sisters-in-law Carol Smoak, Dean Rhode, Anne Patrick, and brother-in-law Dennis Rhode; grandchildren Jessica Patrick, Jacqueline Patrick, Hailey Patrick and Lucas Patrick; step-grandchildren Haley Biering, Emilee Biering and Natalie Biering; step-great grandchildren Kingston Paxton, Violet Paxton, Jeannie Paxton and Ridley Sotiroglou.
