Heyward Theodore “Ted” also known as “Big Mac” McAlhany, Sr., 62, of Branchville, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

A Memorial Service will be held 5:00 PM Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel, St. George.

Ted was born on July 26, 1962, in Bamberg, a son of Theodore Furman McAlhany and Jodi Harriott Proveaux.  He was a graduate of Four Holes Academy and a truck driver with Custom Commodities.  He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.  Ted loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting.  He was a predeceased by a brother, Furman “Durk” McAlhany.   

Surviving two sons, Heyward “Ted” (Donna) McAlhany, Jr., Bamberg,  Brandon L. McAlhany, Harleyville; daughters, Tabitha McAlhany (James) Minus, Irmo and Mindy (Blake) Moody, Cordova; grandchildren, Chandler McAlhany, Heyward McAlhany, Trealynne McAlhany, Gabrielle McAlhany, Chloe Minus, Kaylee Moody, Logan Buxton, Haisley Moody; brother, James (Allie) McAlhany, Orangeburg; adopted brother, Mike (Terri) McCoy, St. George; and an uncle, a number of aunts, nieces and nephews.
