Imogene Risher Way, 79, of Dorchester passed away on September 21, 2022.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at Dorchester Cemetery with the Reverend Ronnie Brewer officiating. Family will receive friends following the service.
Imogene was born on January 31, 1943, in Harleyville SC, to Van Buren Risher and Rebecca Myers Risher. She was the youngest of 11 children. Imogene was co-owner of Way’s Service Station and Broad Street Printing with her husband Jim Way. She was known for her famous macaroni and cheese, her nut cakes and fruit cakes.
Imogene leaves to cherish her memory her son, Randall Steven Way; daughter, Victoria (Beth) Way and Dale (Shawne) Hathaway. Five grandchildren, Jessica (Brandon) Sherman; Dale Allen Hathaway; Kayla Carter; James (Samantha) Hathaway and Eugene Ward; Five great-grandchildren, Anthony (CJ) Vititoe; Braylin Vititoe; Leanne Grimes; Boe Hathaway; Abel Hathaway; and her sister, Ruby Browning. She is predeceased by her husband of 61 years; her parents; brothers, Aaron, Joseph, Daniel, Hubert, Charles and Ben Risher and her sisters, Mattie Julia Ann and Mary Louise.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church.
