Joan “Joanne” Baker Del Rosario, 91, of Harleyville, widow of William Halzy Baker, Sr., entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 25, 2025.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, December 30, 2025 in the Harleyville Southern Methodist Church cemetery with Haskell Parler officiating. The family will receive friends an hour before the service.
Joan was born on November 30, 1934, in Manning, a daughter of the late Mable Thigpen Parker and Raymond Parker. She worked at the Harleyville Red & White and Boland Pharmacy where she never met a stranger and was a friend to all. She took great joy in taking care of her family and others. She enjoyed baking, cooking, cleaning her house and yard, dancing and music. Joan never left her house without her makeup just right. She was predeceased by a sister, Elsie King and her second husband, Al Del Rosario.
Surviving are her children, Halzy Baker and Sherry (David) Goshorn; grandchildren, Adrienne Baker and Wills Baker, Dylan Goshorn, Jessica (Jamie) Carn, Kristie (Jeremy) Byrd and great grandchildren, Jac Carn, Joanna Carn, Baker Byrd and Landyn Byrd; brother-in-law, Pat King; and lifelong friend, Frances Wynn.
