John Edward "Eddie" Stephens Obituary

John Edward “Eddie” Stephens, 62, of Dorchester, husband of Theresa W. Stephens, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Duke University.


Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Palmer Hudson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George.


Eddie was born on April 4, 1959, in Orangeburg, a son of the late John Wesley and Patsy Joan Reeves Stephens.  He was a graduate of Harleyville Ridgeville High School and was a Journeyman Electrician.  He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 776, Boy Scouts of America Troop 675 out of St. George United Methodist Church and Biker’s Helping Bikers.  He was predeceased by his sister, Susan Stephens.


Surviving is his wife, Theresa Stephens, Dorchester; a son, James Wesley (Ivy Rawlins) Stephens, Johns Island; grandchildren, Hayden Stephens and Madeline Braden; a sister, Patti (Tommy) Grimsley, Dorchester; nephew, Patrick (Amanda) Grimsley, niece, Laura (Reeves) Proctor; great-nephews, Hunter, John and Mason Grimsley; several aunts and uncles; and, a host of cousins and friends.
