Joseph E. Horn Obituary

Joseph E. Horn, 86, widower of Barbara Shieder Horn, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at his residence.


Joe was born on July 8, 1939, in Charleston, West Virginia, a son of the late of Russell and Violet Horn. He was a retired maintenance planner with Westvaco. He served in the US AirForce and was a member of Indian Field Methodist Church. Joe and Barbara had many years of wonderful adventures from opening a country western store, square dancing, and horses, which led to many wonderful lifelong friendships out on the horse trails.


Two children:  Joseph Michael Horn (Sissy) and Suzie Horn Green (Ricky).  They have been blessed with four wonderful grandchildren:  Brooks Green (Sarah), Seth Horn (Brenna), Shelby Alyse Green, and Samantha Horn Rhoden (Seth).  They have also been blessed with great-grandchildren: Poppy Louise Green, Emma Kate Green, Wilkes Samuel Horn, Anna Maybin Rhoden, Mila Alyse Moorer, Anna-Cotes Horn, Joseph Jack Green and Hardy Bratton Rhoden; special friends Al and Debbie Creasy and his faithful companion, Zeus.


A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, December 6, 2025, at Indian Field Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Indian Field Methodist Church.
