Lavern Berry, Bailey, 74, of St. George, widower of Patsy Jean Jackson Bailey, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 17, 2025.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday in the Indian Field Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Jackson, Hunter Jackson, Jonathan Elliott, J.J. Murray, James Jackson and Donald Jackson.
The visitation will be an hour before the service.
Lavern was born on April 3, 1950, in Walterboro, the son of the late James Woodrow Bailey and Alma Ray Carter. He was the lead mechanic at DayCo for over 30 years. He was a member of Indian Field Methodist Church. He loved to fish and hunt and spend time with his grandson. He was predeceased by a sister, Martha Dewitt, Christine Connelly and Frances Powell.
Surviving are two daughters, Jeannie Dell Bailey and Becky Lavern (Wade) Boykin, a grandson, Bailey Woody Ott, all of St. George; a sister, Susan Hiott; sisters-in-law, Sandra Jackson, Shirley Jackson and a number of nieces and nephews.
