Truitte was born on October 2, 1934, in Cope, SC, a daughter of the late George Truett Hughes and Emma Agnes Antley Hughes.  On October 9, 1953, she married the love of her life, A.L. Felder. Together they built a life grounded in faith, family, and hard work. She spent many dedicated years as the office manager at Bowcar Manufacturing in Bowman.  After retiring, she continued to support her family’s endeavors as the bookkeeper for Felder Farms, Felder Trucking, and co-owner of Felder’s Bar-B-Que.

She generously gave her time as a volunteer at The Regional Medical Center (TRMC), where her kindness and gentle spirit touched many. A faithful member of Bowman Southern Methodist Church, she taught children’s Sunday School and was an active member of the Gladys Weathers Missionary Society, serving with heartfelt devotion.

Talented in many ways, she was an exceptional cook and a gifted seamstress. She found joy in tending her yard, reading, and caring for others. Her life was marked by love, service, and quiet strength, and she leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her.  She was predeceased by her husband, parents and sister, Betty Hughes Dixon.

Surviving are her sons, Archie L. (Susan) Felder, III and John M. Felder; a daughter, Susan F. (Timmy) Judy; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Felder; grandchildren, Alex (Meredith) Felder, Morgan (Doug) Sass, Clark Felder, Meg (John) McLaurin, Lynn (Britton) Whetsell and Bradley (Mandy) Felder; great-grandchildren, Claire, Julia and Nora Felder, Eliza and Susanna Sass, Annie McLaurin, Mims, Harper and Darcy Whetsell and Crew Felder; sister, Jackie Hughes Moyer; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank her caregivers who provided love and tender care, Peggy Berry, Cathryn Herndon, Georgetta Kennedy, Georgia Mosely and Evelyn Govan. A special thank you to Edisto Home Care and Hospice for providing excellent service and support.
