Mary Ellen Hartzog Dukes

Mary Ellen Hartzog Dukes, 72, of Reevesville, was the wife of Billy Dukes, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at her residence.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Prospect Southern Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Bogstad officiating. 

Mary Ellen was born to George and Annie Rivers Hartzog on January 23, 1954, of St. George, SC. She was a member of the first graduating class at Dorchester Academy and received her associate’s degree from Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College. She attended Prospect Southern Methodist Church.

She was the loving wife of 53 years to Billy Wayne Dukes and the mother to Kevin Dukes (Jenni Dickson) of Kansas and grandmother to Wesley Dukes.  She is also survived by her brother, David Hartzog.
