Oscar Rawls Mitchell, Sr., 79, of St. George, husband of Brenda Mitchell, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 27, 2022.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Jakie Walters and Rev. Dawjr Wood officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. George Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers will be Robert Mitchell, Eric Mitchell, Chris Mitchell, Anthony Pierpaoli, Jimmy Behie and Bradley Moore.  Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon from 4:00-6:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George.

Oscar was born on June 18, 1942, in York, SC, a son of the late John Martin and Helen E. Stroup Mitchell.  He served in the US Navy, was a lab technician and retired from LaFarge Cement Plant. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.

Surviving is his wife, Brenda Pulaski Mitchell; a son, Oscar Rawls (Kim) Mitchell, Jr., all of St. George; daughters, Melissa (Chris) Field, Hazelhurst, GA, Tammy Byrd, St. George and Jennifer Shelly Mitchell, Harleyville; special family, Melissa and Jimmy Behie, Harleyville; grandchildren, Nikki (Bradley) Moore, Anthony Pierpaoli, Robert (Ramey) Mitchell, Eric (Nicole) Mitchell, Chris Mitchell, Mia Mitchell, Kaylee Behie and Whitlee Behie; great-grandchildren, Maddie Moore, Montgomery Moore, Meadow Moore, R.J. Mitchell and Memphis Mitchell.
