Patricia McWhorter Clark Obituary

Patricia McWhorter Clark, of Dorchester, wife of James Roger Clark, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 28, 2026, after a brief illness.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Zion Methodist Church with Rev. Ronnie Brewer officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Garrett Greer, Kyle Greer, Anthony Mount, Chris McWhorter and Clay McWhorter.  The family will receive friends an hour before the service in the church.

Pat was born on August 31, 1947, in Berkeley County, a daughter of the late Berry Harold McWhorter and Beverly Brittle McWhorter.  She was a graduate of Berkeley High School and began her working career at Bilton Ford. She later became the owner of The Village Shop in Holly Hill.

After retiring as secretary for the Dorchester County Water and Soil District, her dedication to her community continued. She returned as an Honorary Commissioner and subsequently ran for office, earning a position as a commissioner.

She was a faithful member of Zion Methodist Church and found great joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time with her family, shopping, and working in her yard.

She was predeceased by her brother, Robert McWhorter and a sister, Jane McWhorter O’Connor.

Surviving is her loving husband of 55 years, James Roger Clark; a daughter, Allyson (Chad) Greer; grandchildren, Garrett (Lilly) Greer, Haley Greer, Caitlyn G. (Anthony) Mount and Kyle (Rachel) Greer; great-grandchildren, Addie and Ellie Mount and Jase Greer; sisters-in-law, Denise McWhorter and Nona (Curtis) Clark; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials may be made to Zion Methodist Church, 1010 Wire Road, Dorchester, SC 29437.
