Patricia Lynn Crook of St. George, widower of Barry Jay Crook passed peacefully at her home on July 8, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

Lynn was born November 25, 1958 in Greenville SC. She was the daughter of the late Paul (Mary Byrd) Hazle and Mary Tiller Hazle. She was a graduate of St. George high school class of 1977 and Anderson College class of 1979. Lynn served in many roles throughout her lifetime both professionally and voluntarily assisting in multiple financial roles. She was a devoted member of Mount Zion Baptist Church serving in numerous capacities including treasurer for 20 years. Lynn was wed to Barry Crook in August of 1979. Together they built a life based on faith putting their love for the Lord first in their marriage. They raised two sons, Brady and Tyler. Some of their most cherished memories together included cheering on their children and grandchildren in their many sporting events. She never missed the opportunity to show up for her children or grandchildren be it a ballgame, church program, or milestone event. Lynn was beautiful, kind, loving, and thoughtful. She meant so much to so many. She met everyone with a warm and friendly smile. She battled cancer for 30 years with endurance, perseverance, and determination. It was a true testimony of her faith and trust in Jesus. Lynn is survived by her sons Brady (Erin) Crook and Tyler (Rebecca) Crook both of Saint George. Grandchildren: Jacks Crook, Pres Crook, Piper Lynn Crook, Bode Crook, and Delilah Crook. Siblings: Steve (Debbie) Hazle of Greer, Paula Hazle of Greenville, Bobby (Bobbie) McKinnon, Billy (Nell) McKinnon, Kay (Don) Lawley. Sister in law, Dianne Crawford, Brother in law Keith (Wanda) Crook, all of Saint George and a multitude of loving nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 10, 2026, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. David Mullins, Rev. Steve Mims and Rev. Jakie Walters officiating. A burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Hazle, Michael DeCuir, Joey McKinnon, Bill McKinnon, Drew Lawley and Chase Lawley.

The visitation will be at 10:00 AM followed by the service.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the special family members and friends who cared for Lynn and helped transport her to and from medical appointments. They also offer special thanks to the medical teams at Charleston Oncology and Edisto Hospice for their support.
