Priscilla Potter Walters entered into eternal rest during the early hours of Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Colleton Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Priscilla, known as Prissy to her family, was born into this world on June 12, 1956, in Dallas, Texas to the late Calvin and Dixie Potter. Priscilla first attended St. Joseph’s Academy in Dallas and was quick to say that due to her unique personality, at St. Joseph’s and guided by the Nuns, she learned to spell the word belligerent before she could spell her name. During this time in her life, she also learned to play the accordion, which was a talent that she would find to be absolutely useless in her long career with the United States Postal Service. Prissy was ultimately awarded the Most Improved Attitude Award from the school, an award created by the Sisters just for her.
If you knew the real Priscilla, you realized she had a great sense of humor. She would laugh until tears came to her eyes when she anticipated that her obituary would state that while she had been on a cruise with Viking Ships in the Amazon, she fell overboard, latched onto the back of a nearby elephant, floated downstream, and narrowly escaped being swallowed by an alligator before she floated on over the horizon. You also knew that she was an extremely smart and well-read woman and could discuss most any topic of interest, although anyone attempting to discuss politics with her was quickly advised by those who loved her best, don’t.
Priscilla is survived by her son, Calvin (Ashley) Walters of Charlotte, sisters Rebecca Jones of Combine Texas, Sarah (Tommy) Despain of Pensacola, Florida and brother Russell (Tana) Potter of Lebo, Kansas, sister, Judy (Kevin) Leizler-Dunn of McPherson, KS, nieces Jessica Williams, China DeSpain, Cassidy Potter and Kearsti Conner as well as great nieces Ryley Willams and Khloe Conner and her Skynyrd’s Family. The love of her life, Mark Crawford and beloved fur baby Chili Dog (No Onions) predeceased her.
Through the beautiful opportunity of Sharing Hope SC, Priscilla will continue to offer hope to others. A memorial service will be planned for a later time. A lover of animals, Priscilla, would be honored to have donations made to any shelter or rescue service of one’s choice.
