Rachel Roxanna Mizell, 62, wife of Daniel Leon Mizell, Jr., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 26, 2024 at Limestone Baptist Church with Reverends Paul Lawton and Rawls Mitchell officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Infinger, Matthew Thompkins, Hamlin Sweatman, David Willoughby, David Douty, Daniel Mizell III and Jackie Judy.  The family will receive friends an hour before the service.

Rachel was born on July 22, 1962, in Orangeburg, a daughter of the late William Bunyan “Junior” Sanford, Jr. and Nellie Marie Axson.  She was a Certified Nursing Assistant at the St. George Healthcare Center.  She was a member of Limestone Baptist Church, loved her grandchildren, church family and enjoyed singing. She was predeceased by a half-sister, Virginia Mizell.

Surviving is her husband of 40 years, Daniel Leon Mizell, Jr.; a son, Daniel L. (Elizabeth) Mizell, III; two daughters, Rachel Faye (Matthew) Mizell Thompkins and Roseanna Danielle Mizell; grandchild, Derrick James Thompkins; brothers, Chester (Colleen) Sanford and Adam (Katia) Herron; sister, Tammy (Donnie) Axson; half brother, Dan Mizell; half Sisters, Terrie Jackson, Dannette (Jackie) Judy, Annie Mixon and Margie Clark.
