Richard B. Kizer Obituary

Richard B. Kizer, 68, of Harleyville, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at his residence.


A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 19, 2025 at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel.


Richard was born on October 27, 1956, in Orangeburg, a son of the late Kermit Kizer and Mary Alma Kizer.  He graduated from Mims Academy and retired from Westvaco’s chemical division after 30 years. Following retirement, he went to work for Pinelands Group Home, which he had part ownership.  He belonged to Indian Field Methodist Church, enjoyed reading, collecting guns, and loved the USC Gamecocks. He was predeceased by a sister, Elaine Lines.


Surviving is his sister, Joette (John Browning) Kizer; nephews, Shawn Newsome and Tyler Lines; great-niece, Liza Newsome and great-nephew, Cullen Lines. The family would like to thank Laverne Guess, Alice Snell and Yolanda Jefferson.
