Richard Lee Turner, Sr., 87, husband of Barbara Knight Turner, of Harleyville, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 22, 2024.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 27, 2024, in the First Baptist Church of Harleyville with Pastor Jamie Cribb officiating. A burial will follow in the Harleyville Cemetery. The visitation will be an hour before the service in the church.
Richard was born on September 10, 1936, in Newberry, SC, a son of the late Dannie Lee Turner and Vera Morris Turner Mills. He was a retired supervisor with Norfolk Southern at Brosnan Forest. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Harleyville, an avid Clemson fan, fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was predeceased by a sister, Sandra T. Marlow.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara K. Turner; a son, Richard “Ricky” Turner, Jr., all of Harleyville; a daughter, Julie (Timothy) Fitzgibbon, Dillon; grandchildren, Andrew (Vinita) Fitzgibbon, Caroline Turner, Sarah Fitzgibbon, Bryce Turner and Matthew Fitzgibbon.
