Ricky Wayne Kizer, 58, of St. George, husband of Sandra A. Kizer, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.

A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Yagman and Pastor Charles Houston officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour before the service, beginning at 2:00 PM.

Ricky was born on May 27, 1965, in Orangeburg, a son of the late William Pinckney Kizer and Vernata Peagler Kizer and also was predeceased by a brother, Freddie Kizer.

He was a graduate of Harleyville Ridgeville High School and retired from the South Carolina Department of Transportation as a Maintenance Supervisor, after 32 years of service.  Following retirement, Ricky quickly found out that he enjoyed working and chose a job as a truck driver with Trinity Trucking Construction, LLC.  He was an avid USC Gamecock fan and most importantly enjoyed spending time with his family.  

Surviving is his wife, Sandra Atkins Kizer; daughters, Chelsea M. Kizer and Brandi L. Kizer; his only granddaughter that he loved and affectionately called him “Popsie”, Hazel Grace Kizer; brothers, Herman Kizer and Thurman (Lenora) Kizer all of St. George; and, a sister, Theresa Sweatman Mathis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
