Robert Joseph Mixson, 80, of St. George, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at his residence.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 6, 2025, at St. George Methodist Church with Rev. Joey McDonald and Rev. James Way officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour before the service.

Bob was born on June 26, 1944, in Charleston, to Harley Mixson and Doris Rivers Mixson. He attended Chicora High School and graduated from Murray Vocational School and Ringling College of Art and Design. He worked as an Accreditation officer with the Dorchester County Sheriff’s office and published several works as an author. He was predeceased by brothers, Billy Mixson and Jerry Mixson.

He was a dual member of St. George Methodist Church where he was active in the Serendipity Sunday School class and Old St. George Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son, James (Jenn) Mixson; stepdaughter, Leslie Brill, and stepson, Mark Willard; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; as well as his sisters, Betty Mixson (Tommy) Rickborn and Jean Kern.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the youth ministries at St. George Methodist Church or Old St. George Baptist Church.
