Robert Hampton (Bob) Tolson, 95, of Aiken, husband of Marion Howell Tolson, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
Bob was born on January 29, 1931, in Washington, D.C., the son of the late Hampton Roosevelt Tolson and Margaret Williams Tolson. Bob grew up in Maryland where he attended Maryland Public Schools. Bob joined the United States Navy at an early age. He served aboard the destroyer, USS Vesole during the Korean War. Bob loved his country and was proud of his service.
He was the owner and operator of Tolson Enterprises, LLC which specialized in heavy construction equipment sales.
He was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church where he served as an usher. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting with his good friend, Brian Baltzegar.
Bob was predeceased by his son, Robert Mark Tolson and his daughter, Debra Ann Bibeau and a sister, Margaret Tolson Keithley.
Surviving are his wife, Marion Howell Tolson; daughter-in-law, Maureen Bowes Tolson; son-in-law, Kevin Bibeau; four grandchildren, Kimberly Ann (Pavel Leykin) Tolson, Michele Tolson (James) Hartman, Matthew Robert (Leslie) Tolson and David Mark Tolson; four great-grandchildren, Calvin and Mira Leykin, Thea and Zoe Tolson; and nieces, Susan Keithley (Mike) Long and Sandra Keithley Bare.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the St. George Cemetery with Reverend Ricky Smith officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Millbrook Baptist Church, 223 South Aiken Boulevard, Aiken, SC 29803.
