Robert “Gene” Rudd left this world unexpectedly on August 10, 2022 at the age of 66.  Gene was devoted father, a loving husband and an unforgettable friend.  As an avid outdoorsman, Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding and spending time in nature.  Gene possessed a passion for life that was only rivaled by his unconditional love for his family.  Though he has passed from this world the impact he had on the lives of those left behind to mourn him will never be forgotten. 

Gene was born on November 12, 1955, a son of the late Robert Franklin and Dorothy Hough Rudd.  He was a diesel mechanic and attended Calvary Baptist Church.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2022, in the Dorchester Cemetery, 757 Schoolhouse Road, Dorchester to celebrate his life.

Surviving is his wife, Mary Judy Hill Rudd, Ridgeville; a daughter, Nancy (Shaun) Ulrichsen; sons, Franklin E. (Maude) Rudd, St. George, Robert (Jamie) Rudd, II, David Allen (Jacqueline Tess) Rudd, Ridgveille, and Christopher J. (Hannah) Ashing; grandchildren, , Crystal (Glen) Childers, Ashley Rudd, Ryan Brinson, Kyle Brinson, Liam Rudd, Gunnar Rudd, Madalyn Paradise, Caroline Paradise, Oliver Rudd, Harper Grace Rudd and Aivyn Renee Rudd, Cooper Leo Ashing, McKenna Haven Ashing, Aadyn John Rudd, Nick Wagner and Chris Wagner; great-grandchildren, Zachary Brice Children Brayden Connor Childers and Jessie Childers;  a brother, James “Randy” (Debbie) Rudd.
