Ronald Edward Herndon, husband of Peggy G. Herndon, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at his residence.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at Herndon Family Cemetery with Rev. Mickaylla McDonald.  Pallbearers will be Ron Herndon, Mike Herndon, Andy Herndon, Shane Herndon, Brandon Herndon and Hunter Herndon. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George.  

Ronnie was born on July 18, 1947, in Summerville, a son of the late Edward J. and Mary Joyce Herndon.  He was a graduate of Harleyville-Ridgeville High School and Trident Technical College.  He was a millwright, farmer and skilled carpenter.  He loved gardening, hunting, fishing, college football. 

Surviving is his wife, Peggy Herndon; three sons, Ron (Tina) Herndon, Michael (Lucretia) Herndon and Andrew Herndon, all of Harleyville; 6 grandchildren, Courtney Herndon (Rodney) Patrick, Shane (Lizzy) Herndon, Kandis (Austin) Herndon, Kylie (Justin) Herndon Villeponteaux, Brandon (Haven) Herndon and Hunter (Zoe) Herndon; 7 great-grandchildren, Harper Belle Patrick, Rodney Patrick, III, Lola Herndon, Matthew Herndon, Grant Herndon, Harper Grae Herndon and Hallie Herndon; siblings, Dianne H. Ferguson, Jack (Sadie Ann) Herndon, Harley (Janet) Herndon, Byron (Karen) Herndon, Teresa (Victor) Breaker and Mishell (Fred) Herndon Warner; a number of in-laws, nieces and nephews.  The family would like to thank Agape Hospice for their wonderful and loving care.
