Sherod Hampton “Hampy” Eadon, 93, husband of Betty Jean Eadon, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Dawjr Wood officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. George Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Bryan Eadon, Hampton Eadon, Ricky Hughes, Chris Crosby, Chad Crosby and Carroll Cheek.  Visitation will be an hour before the service in the church.

Hampy was born on April 27, 1929, in Eutawville, a son of the late Selvin Avant and Ruby Martin Eadon. He was a retired truck driver with Mims Oil Company and served in the South Carolina National Guard as a Mess Sergeant for 9 years.  He was a member and a former deacon of Memorial Baptist Church.  He was an avid gardener.  He was a loving husband, father and Pops.  He was predeceased by his sister, Carrie Jane Hughes and daughter-in-law, Pam Eadon.

Surviving is his loving wife of 71 years, Betty Jean Judy Eadon; three sons, Sherod (Linda) Eadon, Wayne (Evan) Eadon and Charles Eadon; grandchildren, Hampton (Jessica) Eadon, Paige (John) Bell, Angela Eadon (Beau Peterson) and Bryan (Katie) Eadon; great-grandchildren, Addison, Hampton, Aiden, Davyn, Millie, Hyott and Sawyer.  The family would like to thank his special caretakers, Rosetta Greene and Glennie Hill.
