Shirley M. Jackson

Shirley M. Jackson, 77, widow of James P. Jackson, of St. George, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 6, 2026, in the Indian Field Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Collins officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour before the service.

Shirley was born on October 30, 1948, in Charleston, and was the daughter of the late Ocie Mixson and Mary Beatrice Mixson.  She was a seamstress with Carolina Girls Wear and a caretaker.  She was a member of Indian Field Methodist Church where she belonged to the Young Ladies Society.   She was predeceased by a brother David Mixson.

Surviving are her sons, James P. Jackson, Jr. and Donald G. (Jessica) Jackson; a daughter Betty (Tony) Britt; brothers, Johnny Mixson; sister, Evelyn Jean (James) Mixson; grandchildren, Ariel (Jay) Walker, A.J. Britt, Cory (Heather) Jeffers, Penny (Juan) Munoz, Karolynne Jackson, Cerstyn Jackson, Alexis, Jackson, Maeve August Jeffers; great-grandchildren, AuMariee, Aunna, Juielle, Oakley and Everest.
