Trudy Patrick Stevenson; 78 of Bowman; wife of Terrell W. Stevenson; entered into eternal rest on Tuesday January 7, 2025, at MUSC Orangeburg Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday January 9, 2025, at Wightman Methodist Church with Pastor Mary Everhart officiating. Pallbearers will be Bert Weathers, William Weathers, Wally Weathers, David Stack, Jackson West, and Dr. Walter Seabrook. A burial will follow in the Bowman Memorial Cemetery.

Trudy was born September 27, 1946, in Bowman, a daughter of the late Harold Woodrow and Minnie Lee Bardin Patrick. She was a graduate of Bowman High School and had a degree from Lander College in Theatre and Drama as well as a master’s in education from South Carolina State University. She was a schoolteacher, and she taught in the following schools Easley, Denmark, Bowman High School, Harleyville Ridgeville High School, and after retiring from Public School, she taught at Bowman Academy.

She was the first female Mayor of the town of Bowman; following her grandfather John Apsley Bardin. She was a member of Whitman Methodist Church where she served on many committees and enjoyed being a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed Indian Field Campmeeting as well as reading and writing.

Surviving is her husband; Terrell W. Stevenson; her son; Terrell Bardin (Bard) Stevenson; and his wife; Allison of Irmo; grandsons; Apsley Edwards; Augustus (Auggie) Stevenson; her sister; Rachel P. (John McCray) Weathers of Bowman; her nephews; John Woodrow Weathers (Rad); Wally Patrick Weathers (Julie); William Fralix Weathers (Joy); her cousins; Gayle J. West; Jennifer (Joe) Williams; Bert (Jodi) Weathers; Bard’s Godfather; Jackson West; his sister Starlene W. Watson (Patten).
