Wallace “Cotton” Knight, 95, of Harleyville, husband of Dicksie Marchant Knight, entered eternal rest on Thursday, October 6, 2022.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Jim Stophel and Roy Dean Knight officiating. Burial will follow in the Harleyville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his nephews. Visitation will be an hour before the service.
Wallace was born on September 27, 1927, in Harleyville, a son of the late Arlee Knight and Maude Weathers Knight. He was an Army veteran and a retired heavy equipment operator with Giant Cement Plant. He was a member of the American Legion Post 128, Harleyville Christian Church and was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. He was predeceased by siblings, William W. “Hick” Knight, James A. Knight, Jerome D. Knight, Virginia Pendarvis Way, Mary Estelle Day, Thelma Knight, Vickie Ann Roberson and Frances Knight Ardis.
Surviving is his wife, Dicksie M. Knight, Harleyville; a son, H. Mitch (Dea) Knight, Greenwood; a daughter, Jeannie (Charles) Hudson, Tyrone, GA; grandchildren, Ellison Knight, Lydea Knight and Caleb Hudson; and sisters; Catherine Reeves, Marie Weathers and Dot Smith.
